Sabaq Blended Learning for Schools (Free)

Use Sabaq in Schools without Internet (Offline)

Blended learning is a powerful approach to education that combines eLearning solutions with inside-the-classroom teaching and significantly improves student learning. It is very popular in first-world countries. In Pakistan, where there is a severe shortage of qualified teachers, Blended Learning can be a game changer for schools.

Intro to Sabaq Blended Learning

Sabaq Foundation, a self-funded non-profit, is Pakistan’s largest and most popular free eLearning content provider. Sabaq has over 5 million users and 17,000+ videos for KG-14 grades in Math, Science, English, Urdu, Computers, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, General Math, General Science, etc.

Sabaq also helps schools implement Blended Learning by using its eLearning content in classroom lectures, a study lab for students, a study at home for students, and tablets/mobile phones for teachers. Schools can use this without any internet (offline).

Blended Learning Solution Highlights

Sabaq Blended Learning solution offers Sabaq videos and tests for schools to use for grades KG-14. This solution includes the following components for each school:

  1. Classroom Lectures (TV / Multi-Media + Android Box): deliver classroom lectures through Sabaq videos. Also, use practice tests with students to improve their engagement and learning. A regular TV / Multi-Media + Android box is sufficient in each classroom and you don’t need a Smart TV.
  2. Study Lab for Students (Android Tablets): provide a study lab in the school where students can again watch some Sabaq videos (to fill learning gaps) and also test their knowledge with practice tests.
  3. Student Self-Study at Home (Android Phones or Tablets): ask students to obtain an Android phone or tablet at home to watch some Sabaq videos (to fill learning gaps) and also test their knowledge with practice tests
  4. Teacher Self-Training (Android Phones or Tablets): provide teachers with Android tablets or ask them to use their own Android phones to watch Sabaq videos before each lecture to strengthen their knowledge and also improve teaching techniques. This is especially true if the teachers want to deliver lectures themselves instead of using Sabaq videos for it.

By using the above-mentioned Sabaq Blended Learning solution, you can significantly improve student learning. Your teachers also suddenly become world-class. As a result, your school performance improves dramatically.

Option 1: Sabaq Solution for Classrooms (Pre-Configured)

Here is the fastest way to use Sabaq Solution in your classrooms. In a few simple steps, you will have Sabaq Solution working in each classroom.

1. Buy TVs / Multi-Media for Classrooms

Make sure one or more of your classrooms have a regular TV (40-inch or larger is preferred) or multi-media. You don’t need a Smart TV or Android TV but that TV will also work if you already have it.

2. Register and Get Pre-Configured Android Boxes (from Sabaq)

You can register your school with Sabaq Foundation and then obtain pre-configured Android boxes from Sabaq that have a memory card in them to store Sabaq videos and content for offline use. Please obtain one Android box per classroom for offline use (no internet required).

We only provide these Android boxes to simplify things for you and not to earn profit. They are provided to you at their market price plus a small service charge (we are a non-profit organization). These prices are estimated in Nov 2023 and may change in the future:

  1. Android Box (classes KG-10) (128 GB): Rs 15,000 plus shipping. 128 GB memory card is included with offline content and videos covering all subjects for a single board (Federal, Punjab, Sindh, KPK, or Balochistan).
  2. Android Box (classes KG-12) (256 GB): Rs 20,000 plus shipping. 256 GB memory card is included with offline content and videos covering all subjects for a single board (Federal, Punjab, Sindh, KPK, or Balochistan).

3. Buy a USB Keyboard and Mouse per Classroom

You will need one set of USB keyboard and mouse for each Android box so when you connect the Android box to your classroom TV / Multi-Media, you can use the keyboard and mouse to easily use Sabaq Solution.

4. Test Sabaq on all Android Boxes with Memory Card

Now that you’ve obtained all the pre-configured Android boxes from Sabaq, you’re ready to use them:

  1. Connect the Android box with a TV / Multi-Media or a Computer Monitor through an HDMI cable (the Android box has this cable inside it).
  2. Connect the USB keyboard and mouse to the Android box.
  3. Android box already has a memory card inside it (128GB or 256GB) provided by Sabaq.
  4. Turn the power on the Android box. Sabaq App is already installed on it.
  5. Test to make sure the Android box is able to run the Sabaq App and show the content for this class.

5. Use Android Boxes in Classrooms

Now that you’ve tested all the Android boxes for each of your classes, you can take them to your school where you may or may not have Internet and the Android box will work in both situations.

6. Monitor Sabaq Usage in Classrooms Remotely

If you have an internet connection in the school (even a low bandwidth and unreliable one), the Android box will keep publishing learning activity data onto to Sabaq cloud server from where you will be able to monitor your school’s Sabaq usage remotely (for example, sitting in Islamabad, Lahore, or Karachi while your school is in rural areas).

Option 2: Sabaq Solution for Classrooms (Do it Yourself)

If you prefer to build Sabaq Solution yourself, you can easily do that if you have somebody with a little bit of computer knowledge and a computer with a high-speed Internet connection. Here are the steps.

1. Buy TVs / Multi-Media for Classrooms

4. Need one Computer with High-Speed Internet Connection (only Temporarily)

Even if your schools do not have high-speed Internet, you initially need a computer with high-speed Internet so you can download all of Sabaq's content and video free of cost. This is only temporary until all of your Android boxes are set up. Then, you can use them in your schools without any Internet or with low-bandwidth Internet since all videos will be stored locally on the memory card inside each Android box.

5. Register with Sabaq and Download Content and Videos (Free)

When you register your school with Sabaq Foundation (please contact us for it), we will provide you Internet download links to download all of Sabaq content and videos. You will need to go through the following steps for it:
